The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.
But this year, as across the Middle East have pushed up the price of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is benefiting from the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
